C-H EM I-S-T RY of Life: Thinking beyond the C & H and towards the I-S-T

Image
When we start to see life as it is, we will know how best to live in it. Life can be compared to a laboratory where every human being is meant to be a chemist who can create products to make the world a better place. The good news is that you are given all the materials you need to succeed for free in the laboratory of life.   So, my fellow chemists, come closer and pay attention to these words I want to say. These words might be bitter but try to swallow them, for they will serve as light to your path as you progress in life. In the past, when there was nothing called the Internet and all information was preserved in books, scientists had to memorize a lot of data and facts just in case the scientific books or journals got destroyed. But you see, times have changed, and we don’t only have the Internet but also Artificial Intelligence, where you can get almost any fact or answer to your questions within seconds. Though the world has changed, the formal education system...

Ponzi: A Raging Wolf in a Sheep's costume

Image
Ponzi: A Raging Wolf in a Sheep's costume On that fateful day, the weather was calm and I just finished taking my lunch. I strolled outside for fresh air and sat on a couch nearby while sipping some soda. I was thinking of the beauty of life and all creations my eyes could behold.  Then something happened as I was trying to keep myself updated on the happenings in the world, scrolling through some sites on my phone I read a headline that took me out of my current state of mind, and I felt like someone that was woken from his slumber by an electric shock.  The headline was about an investment platform that just crashed and went down with people's life savings(At this time, I can now hear the song, " This is Nigeria by Falz ", being played by the big guys next door). The news was so heartbreaking and it also brings old memories to life. I vividly remember how I once invested in a Ponzi scheme that promised 25% ROI after a month this was when I was naive and had no ide...

Your Temperament; My Personality

Image
Below are the topics to be covered in this post: - A little history of Temperament - The temperaments explained - The twelve temperament Blends - Applications of Your Knowledge of Temperaments - Take a temperament Test                A Little History of Temperament Temperament which can also be referred to as personality means the prevailing mood of a person. It is coined from the Latin word 'temperare' which means 'to mix'. The word got its first use in the medical field, under the theory of Humourism which was made by a great physician called Hippocrates. The theory of Humourism states that certain moods, emotions, and behaviors were caused by an excess or lack of four body fluids. The four body fluids include blood, black bile, yellow bile, and phlegm. The ancient physicians believed a good blend of these body fluids is what makes people healthy while an imbalance will make them sick. This was considered to be the cause of disea...

WHY STUDENTS FAIL

Image
Failure is a report given by life that shows us something has been omitted or done wrongly. As it is possible to move from a series of failures into a jaw-dropping success, it is also possible to have a great failure after rising to a great height in life. This post is for you whether you are in college, a jambite, or a freshman on campus who wants preventive measures for failure or wants to put an end to it. Below are some of the reasons why students fail: 1. Not Studying the right materials For every subject or course, there is always a recommended textbook on it from which teachers or lecturers do draft their notes. These materials are expected to be used by students as supplements to the notes written in class since the materials tend to give a thorough explanation of each topic. Failure to do this can make a student perform poorly. College students who need materials on Maths, English, and science-related subjects can get them here . I'll keep updating the list. For past q...

PAINS 2 GAINS: How to acquire strength in the days of weakness.

Image
There are moments in life when we feel like the world is turning upside down, all hope seems lost and it seems no help is coming soon. As short as these moments are, they try to set a large footprint in our lives. In this post, I am going to share how we can survive these days and make use of the opportunities it has to offer. You might want to ask me: "dude is there anything like an opportunity in painful moments?". Trust me, there are lots of them, some of which are: 1. Painful moments enable us to discover ourselves you will not believe you can do some great things until a kind of force wakes those potentials from their slumber. Just like the first law of motion: a body(let's call this potential) remains in its state of rest or moves in a straight line until it is being acted upon by an external force(eg. Pain). Pain sometimes acts as a catalyst that makes us discover our hidden potentials faster. Most celebrities that are celebrated today once had painful experience...

Finally! 5 ways to overcome LOW SELF ESTEEM is here.

Image
Right from the term, Low self-esteem is a state of bringing oneself to a lower state than it's necessary. So many people have been stuck in this position for so long, and it is even worse when the person is not aware that this is a problem to be addressed. Low self-esteem might be easily mistaken for humility or shyness, but it's something more than that.   Below are some factors to look out for in someone with low-self esteem: 1. Inability to express your opinion in public 2. Avoiding people's faces during a conversation 3  You find it difficult to say NO to others' request 4. You say negative things to yourself 5. You blame yourself for everything that goes wrong, even when it's obvious that you are not at fault. Taking some steps to get free from low self-esteem might seem challenging but the reward is worth fighting for. Some of these are: you will be able to mark your boundaries with others, and you don't permit anyone to mess up with you; you also devel...

Introducing 5 Easy Steps to BECOME A STRAIGHT-A STUDENT: Separating the Truth from the myths.

Image
Till today, there have been so many myths about the personality of 'A'-students or students with a First class grade point. Some of the myths(which I believe you are familiar with) include: "They are lucky and naturally gifted" "They are fast learners" "They study for very long (some say for shorter) hours" "They had the best tutors from childhood" "All that they do at every moment is reading." Isn't it funny enough that a lot of people still have this notion about A-students whenever they are mentioned? Meanwhile, after conducting a case study on A-students I was surprised by the discovery I made. 1.  Not all A-students are fast learners, but they understand themselves better: A-students tend to know what works for them most and what doesn't. They know the best time suitable for their study; the perfect environment that supports their understanding; the kind of meal (especially dinner) to take when planning to study ...
